Wolfsburg playmaker Kevin De Bruyne will arrive in England this morning to complete his switch to Manchester City, according to Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws.

After weeks of speculation, the Citizens have reportedly reached an agreement over a fee with Wolfsburg for the signature of the Belgium international.




And the deal is moving close to completion as it has been claimed that the player will arrive in England today to complete the formalities of his transfer to the Etihad.

De Bruyne will undergo a mandatory medical and is expected to sign a long term contract worth €20m per season with Manchester City.
 


Manchester City will pay an initial fee of around €74m and the performance based add-ons could take the final figure to around €78m, the highest ever fee paid for a Belgian footballer.

A number of clubs were interested in the former Chelsea and Genk man, but Manchester City’s persistence over the last few weeks is finally paying off as De Bruyne is expected to wear their sky blue jersey this season.

The 24-year-old was left out of Wolfsburg’s squad for their league match against Schalke last night, but he was present at the Volkswagen Arena to bid goodbye to his team-mates.

The Belgian joined Wolfsburg from Chelsea in January last year and has scored 20 goals and provided 37 assists in 73 appearances across all competitions for the club.
