Leeds United have agreed a deal to snap up winger Jordan Botaka from Dutch side Excelsior after deeming NEC Nijmegen winger Anthony Limbombe to be too expensive.

The Whites have been looking to add another winger to their squad and earlier today, following a 2-1 win away at Derby County, head coach Uwe Rosler admitted that he was hopeful of having as many as two new players through the door before the transfer window slams shut on Tuesday.

It now appears that Botaka is one of the men Rosler had in mind as, according to Dutch outlet FOX Sports, a deal is in place to take him to Elland Road.

Botaka had been set to sign for Swiss Super League side Sion, who are in the same Europa League group as Liverpool, but the deal fell through.

The winger is expected to undergo a medical tomorrow before putting pen to paper on a contract with the Whites before the window closes.

It remains to be seen how much Leeds are paying to sign Botaka, but they had a €2m bid for Limbombe rejected by NEC.

The 22-year-old spent time at a number of clubs' youth academies in Belgium, including Anderlecht and Club Brugge, the latter being his first senior club in the game.

He joined Excelsior in 2013 after a spell on loan in Portugal. At international level, Botaka represents DR Congo.
