Manchester United have slapped in a bid of around €50m to sign Anthony Martial from Monaco.

The young striker was linked with Tottenham Hotspur earlier this summer, but Monaco fought hard to keep the highly rated 19-year-old at the Stade Louis II.

Monaco tied Martial down to a new contract earlier this summer, but the striker's links with other clubs kept flowing, with both Barcelona and Chelsea mooted as keen.

Now Manchester United, desperate to sign a striker before the transfer window closes, have made their move.

According to French radio station RMC, the Red Devils have offered a sum of around €50m for Martial and are now in talks with Monaco over signing the striker.
