Manchester City have officially announced the signing of Belgium international midfielder Kevin De Bruyne from Wolfsburg.

De Bruyne has put pen to paper on a six-year contract at the Etihad Stadium after Manchester City finally persuaded Wolfsburg to sell, following a lengthy summer chase.

De Bruyne only joined Wolfsburg in January 2014 from Chelsea, where he struggled to win Jose Mourinho's trust and was then allowed to depart for Germany.

The Belgium international is delighted with the switch and told his new club's official site: "I want to reach the highest level possible as a player and I think the most important thing is that at the end of the season we can be happy and maybe have some titles.

"I think this is the most important for the club, the players and for the fans of course", De Bruyne, who has now secured a second shot at the Premier League, added.
