Former Norway striker Jan Age Fjortoft insists that David de Gea will be a Real Madrid player tomorrow.

Manchester United agreed to sell De Gea to Real Madrid earlier today in a total deal worth €40m, which involved Keylor Navas moving the other way.

But the move appears to be dead after reports from Spain claimed Manchester United faxed over their agreement at one minute past the transfer deadline, meaning it did not arrive at La Liga headquarters in time for the transfer to proceed.

As such it has been claimed that De Gea will not be moving to Real Madrid and is still a Manchester United player.

But former Norway striker Fjortoft feels that the goalkeeper will be a Real Madrid player on Tuesday.

He took to Twitter to write: "Am not saying I am 100% sure, but "very sure" De Gea is Real-player tomorrow…"

De Gea has less than one year left on his contract at Old Trafford and has held off putting pen to paper on an extension in the expectation he would be moving to the Bernabeu to turn out for Real Madrid.

It remains to be seen whether De Gea's move does eventually go through as Manchester United insist they submitted their documents in time.
