Spanish La Liga outfit Getafe are eyeing a late move to take striker Stefan Scepovic from Celtic back to Spain.

Scepovic joined Celtic last summer from Sporting Gijon after a prolific campaign regularly hitting the back of the net in Spain's second tier.

But he has struggled to make an impact in Scotland and Celtic manager Ronny Deila has regularly preferred other options in attack.

According to Spanish daily Marca, Getafe are closing in on Scepovic and hoping to push a deal for the Serbian over the line before the transfer window closes.

Celtic signed striker Nadir Ciftci earlier this summer, further pushing Scepovic down the pecking order at Paradise.

The striker has played only once for the Bhoys this season, turning out against Ross County in a Scottish Premiership game.

Scepovic would surely jump at the chance to sign for Getafe as it would bring the regular first team football he craves.

He has been capped eight times for Serbia at international level.
