Dinamo Zagreb chairman Zdravko Mamic has confirmed that defender Jozo Simunovic is in Scotland to sign for Celtic.

The Bhoys failed with an approach for the 21-year-old centre-back earlier this summer, but recently returned to the table and thrashed out a deal with Dinamo Zagreb.

Mamic confirmed that Simunovic is now in Scotland and explained he expects the defender to put pen to paper on a contract with Celtic.

The Dinamo Zagreb supremo told Croatian TV station N1: "Simunovic is currently in Scotland.

"The contract was signed between the clubs and needs a medical examination, after which the contract will become valid", he continued.

"As for the details of the transfer, what I can say is that there is a fixed fee, bonuses and a percentage from Celtic in case of the next transfer."

Simunovic has made 76 appearances in all competitions for Dinamo Zagreb, winning four league titles, two domestic cups and two super cups.

The defender is a product of the club's youth academy and will be aiming to take his career to the next level in Scotland with Celtic.
