Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur scouts were present at a Primeria Liga clash between Sporting Lisbon and Academica on Sunday, according to Portuguese sports daily O Jogo.

Academica hosted Sporting Lisbon at the Estadio Cidade de Coimbra and were handed a 3-1 defeat by the visitors in a Primeira Liga game.




English Premier League giants Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur had scouts present at the game to take a look at the talent on show as the ongoing transfer window nears its end.

The Red Devils, who have been winless in their last two league games, are looking to add more players to their ranks in order to challenge for the league title after a fourth place finish last season.
 

 

Mauricio Pochettino’s Lilywhites are yet to win a league match this season and are sitting just above the relegation zone in 16th spot. Having added Heung-Min Son recently, they are in the market to further bolster their squad.

Several other European outfits, including German Bundesliga clubs 1. FC Koln and VfB Stuttgart, French side Montpellier and Spanish La Liga teams Granada and Levante, also had their scouts at the game.

It remains to be seen if Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur add any new players to their squads before the transfer window closes.
