Lille winger Ryan Mendes is set to join English Championship side Nottingham Forest.

The English side are in the market for another winger and have identified the 25-year-old Cape Verde international as the answer to their problems.




According to French radio station RMC, Mendes is about to imminently join Nottingham Forest, starting the next phase of his career.

Mendes is a product of Le Havre's esteemed youth set-up and graduated to the club's senior ranks in 2008.

The winger was snapped up by Lille in 2012 and has so far made 65 appearances in all competitions for the northern French side, scoring eight goals and providing his team-mates with six assists.

Mendes has featured three times in Ligue 1 for Lille this term, but all three have been from the bench.

At international level Mendes has won 22 caps for Cape Verde, scoring five goals for his country.
