West Brom have completed the signing of goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard from Manchester United on a free transfer.

The shot-stopper is the second player in quick succession to swap Old Trafford for the Hawthornes after defender Jonny Evans made the same move recently.

Lindegaard had only one year left on his contract at Old Trafford and Manchester United have allowed him to join West Brom on a free transfer this summer.

The 31-year-old goalkeeper has put pen to paper on a two-year contract with Tony Pulis' men to keep him at West Brom until 2017.

Lindegaard, who has been handed the number 21 shirt, is delighted with the move and is aiming to do his bit for the Baggies in the current campaign. He also revealed he has kept tabs on West Brom since he arrived in England and has been impressed.

He told his new club's official site: "Since moving to England I've been impressed with how well West Brom have done in the Premier League.

"I had a good chat with Tony Pulis – I must call him the 'gaffer' now – and he convinced me it would be a good move for me and the club.

"From there things moved very quickly. I was very keen to get it done so I can just concentrate on the thing that matters most, the football.

"I am very happy to join and hope I can make a big contribution this season."
