Liverpool have confirmed that Fabio Borini has joined Sunderland on a permanent move today.

The Italian forward was out-of-favour at Anfield and has put pen to paper on a four-year contract after Liverpool accepted an offer from Sunderland for his services.

Borini spent the 2013/14 campaign on loan at Sunderland, but rejected the chance to join the club on a permanent basis last summer.

Now the Italian is heading back to the Stadium of Light to ply his trade under Dutch manager Dick Advocaat.

Borini travelled up to Sunderland earlier today to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms, and a deal has quickly been pushed over the line.
