Lille have officially confirmed the loan of winger Ryan Mendes to English Championship giants Nottingham Forest.

The Cape Verde international is heading to the City Ground on loan until next summer, while Nottingham Forest will have an option to keep the winger permanently should he impress during the course of his spell.




Lille announced in a statement via their official site: "Lille announce the loaning out (with an option to buy) of Ryan Mendes, who has been at Lille since 2012, to the English club Nottingham Forest, in the English Championship.

"Good luck Ryan in England for this season!"
 

 

Mendes is a product of the esteemed youth academy at Le Havre and moved to Lille in 2012.

The winger has played for Lille in three Ligue 1 games so far this season, though all his appearances have come from the substitutes' bench.

Now Mendes will aim to make a splash in English football with Nottingham Forest as he looks to help power the former European champions to promotion to the Premier League.

Mendes has made a total of 65 appearances with Lille, scoring eight goals and chipping in with six assists.

A Cape Verde international, he has 22 senior caps to his name.
