Liverpool have announced the signing of Nigerian starlet Taiwo Awoniyi, a player they have instantly sent on loan to second tier German side FSV Frankfurt.

The young striker joins Liverpool from Nigerian outfit Imperial Academy and is a regular for his country's youth sides. He signs for Liverpool having been tipped for a bright future and after catching the eye of the club's scouts.




Awoniyi has represented the Super Eagles at the Under-17 and Under-20 World Cups, while he is currently turning out for the country's Under-23 side, who are aiming to reach next year's Olympic Games.

The 18-year-old Nigerian has put pen to paper on a contract with Liverpool, but has now instantly moved on loan to 2.Bundesliga outfit FSV Frankfurt, where he will aim to continue his development and feature on a regular basis.
 

 

Awoniyi is delighted with the move and told Liverpool's official site of his joy at the move, saying: "This is the biggest club in the world and I’m privileged to be here.
