Spanish La Liga outfit Getafe CF have completed the signing of striker Stefan Scepovic from Celtic.

The Serbian striker joined the Scottish champions last summer on the back of a prolific campaign in the Segunda Division in Spain with Sporting Gijon.

But Scepovic struggled to make an impact under Ronny Deila at Celtic Park and this season featured in just a single game for the Bhoys, against Ross County in the Scottish Premiership.

Now he is heading back to Spain with Getafe as he seeks to revive his fortunes.

The Spanish side said in a statement: "Getafe CF SAD and Celtic FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of striker Stefan Scepovic.

"The player comes with a Premiership and League Cup achieved at Celtic and will take the number 12."

Scepovic will be aiming to enjoy the first team football at Getafe that eluded him at Celtic as he looks to kick-start his career.

The Serbian fell further down the pecking order at the Scottish champions earlier this summer when Celtic swooped to snap up Nadir Ciftci, who instantly was preferred by boss Deila.
