West Brom are in talks with Manchester United over signing goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard, according to Press Association Sport.

The Dane is surplus to requirements at Old Trafford and has not been handed first team action even as David de Gea has been sidelined amid speculation of a move to Real Madrid.

The shot-stopper has only a year left on his contract at Manchester United, but the Red Devils are ready to offload him on a free transfer.

West Brom had been in the mix for Cardiff City goalkeeper David Marshall, but pulled out when the Welsh side priced the player at around the £5m mark.

Now Tony Pulis' side have switched their attention to Lindegaard and look likely to be able to clinch a deal before the transfer window closes.
