Coventry City are showing interest in Leeds United forward Nicky Ajose.

The former Peterborough United man, who Leeds snapped up just last summer, is available at Elland Road after being declared surplus to requirements by head coach Uwe Rosler.

Ajose spent part of last season on loan at League One side Crewe Alexandra and played a big part in keeping the club away from the drop zone.

Now he could be set for a return to League One with Coventry taking a close look, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

It remains to be seen whether Ajose would leave on a loan or permanent deal, but Leeds are keen to offload the 23-year-old from their wage bill.

Ajose started his career in the youth ranks at Manchester United, but has been out on a series of loan spells, clocking up time at Bury, Scunthorpe, Chesterfield, Crawley and Swindon Town.

The forward will surely be aiming to play regular first team football this season.
