Dutch side Excelsior have insisted that they are not receiving €1.5m from Leeds United for winger Jordan Botaka, with the club's director Ferry de Haan laughing at the suggestion.

Botaka is expected to be confirmed as a Leeds player later today before the transfer window closes for English clubs.

The winger flew to England on Sunday and was put through his medical paces by the Whites yesterday ahead of putting pen to paper on a two-year contract with an option for a third year.

But suggestions Leeds are paying €1.5m for Botaka are wide of the mark and when Excelsior director De Haan was asked about receiving the sum he laughed to Dutch daily AD/Sportwereld: "I wish it was true. It is a lot lower."

Within the Netherlands the estimate is of around €1m being received by Excelsior for Botaka.

Excelsior signed Botaka's replacement yesterday in a sign they consider the winger's move to be done and dusted.

The Rotterdam-based club snapped up Stanley Elbers from Dutch second tier side Helmond Sport, with the player expected to fill the void left by Botaka's departure.
