Manchester United are close to reaching an agreement to sign Newport County defender Regan Poole.

Amidst other high profile signings, Manchester United are on the verge of snapping up the young Welsh defender from League Two side Newport County on deadline day.

The Red Devils have slapped in a bid of around £100,000 for the 17-year-old defender and the figure could reach around £400,000 based on his performances at Old Trafford.

Presumably the offer has been accepted as according to the BBC, Poole is expected to be in Manchester later today to undergo a medical with the Old Trafford-outfit.
