Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren believes that the mistakes he committed against West Ham will not deter him as he looks to find his form against Manchester United.

The Reds were humbled 3-0 at their home by Slaven Bilic's side with the former Southampton defender guilty of losing possession, thus allowing Mark Noble to capitalise on the mistake and double the Hammers' advantage.

Playmaker Philippe Coutinho was sent off in the opening stages of the second half, thus contributing to Liverpool's frustration which subsequently led to a third goal to kill the home side's hopes.

Lovren, while being disappointed at having contributed towards his side's downfall, insists that in the game of football mistakes happen.

The 26-year-old though is eager to rectify the mistakes when his side take on their arch rivals in their next domestic fixture against Manchester United following the international break.

“A game like this, it happens. Mistakes happen and they were cheap goals [the goals conceded against West Ham]", Lovren told his club's official website.

"But I don’t think it will shake myself and the team so we will go again straight away to find our form and win at Manchester United.

“We need to keep our heads up in a tough moment. We need to work hard and forget this as soon as possible. I know that we will do better, definitely better. We have to do it for us and the fans.”
