FC Nantes are earning €4m from selling defender Papy Djilobodji to Chelsea, it has been claimed.

Jose Mourinho's men are snapping up the centre-back, having turned to him after Everton flatly refused to sell John Stones and knocked back multiple offers for the England international.

It had been reported that Chelsea are paying €3m for Djilobodji, but according to French outlet Infosport+, Nantes CEO Franck Kita insists the fee is €4m.

Djilobodji is expected to have his move to Stamford Bridge confirmed today and will bolster Chelsea's options in defence for the season ahead.

The 27-year-old has been a defensive stalwart for Nantes since joining the club from French minnows Senart-Moissy in 2009.
