Liverpool youngster Samed Yesil has joined Swiss outfit FC Luzern on a season-long loan deal.

Yesil has been at Anfield since 2012 when he landed from Bayer Leverkusen, but he has not been able to make his mark at the Merseyside giants yet.

The Germany-born youngster has made a total of two senior appearances for the Reds – both of which came in the 2012/13 season – during his time at the club.

Liverpool have issued a statement on their website, confirming the departure of the 21-year-old to the Swiss outfit on a season-long loan.

Yesil has turned out for Germany’s youth teams and has earned seven caps for the Germany Under-19 squad; however, he is yet to earn a senior cap and is also eligible to turn out for Turkey.

He will be hoping to have an inspiring season in the Swiss league and help the club improve upon their fifth placed finish from last season.

The striker's existing contract with Liverpool expires next summer.
