New Wolfsburg signing Ismail Azzaoui, snapped up from Tottenham Hotspur, has attended his first training session with his new club.

The Bundesliga outfit raided Tottenham to secure the signature of the 17-year-old Belgian starlet yesterday and handed the number 38 shirt to Azzaoui.

The teenager attended his first training session with the rest of his new Wolfsburg team-mates earlier this morning.

The forward was impressive for Tottenham’s youth team last season, but decided to leave the club to continue his career with Wolfsburg, who have a good recent record of bringing up young talent.

A product of Anderlecht’s youth academy, the teenager joined Tottenham last year and caught the eye of the coaches at White Hart Lane with his talent.

He also featured for Tottenham in the Under-21 Premier League last season and the club had been expected to keep hold of him.

Wolfsburg confirmed that they had their eyes on Azzaoui for some time and are pleased to snatch him away from the north London side this summer.

The youngster is a regular for Belgium at youth level and has earned 13 caps for the Under-17s already.
