RKC Waalwijk are set to pocket €1,500 from Virgil van Dijk's move from Celtic to Southampton – and all for just coaching the defender for 13 days.

Van Dijk's move to Southampton from Celtic has come in at the €15.5m mark and as per FIFA's transfer rules, clubs which played a part in developing the player will be entitled to a portion of the fee.

Van Dijk was developed in the youth ranks at Willem II and they are expecting to receive around €400,000 from the deal.

But as a youngster Van Dijk also spent time with RKC Waalwijk, a total of just 13 days, before he joined Willem II.

As such, the second tier Dutch side are earning €1,500 – a sum they are delighted to bag for 13 days coaching work.
