Bologna new boy Emanuele Giaccherini says he had a "wonderful" experience in England at Sunderland and would have no hesitation heading back to the country.

The former Juventus winger has joined Bologna on a season-long loan deal from Sunderland, with the Rossoblu paying €250,000 as a loan fee and also agreeing to cover €1m of the 30-year-old's wages.

Giaccherini had fallen out of favour with Dick Advocaat at the Stadium of Light, but is still all praise for his time in English football with the Black Cats.

Speaking at his presentation conference earlier today, Giaccherini said: "I am back in Italy with great enthusiasm and happiness. Also with a lot of desire to get back into the game and do everything for Bologna.

"I immediately said yes when I was called, this is a historic club that have won so much and have big ambitions", the winger continued.

"The experience in England was wonderful and I would do it again. I grew as a player because it is a completely different type of football compared to our own and with a model football system in my opinion."

Giaccherini was signed by Sunderland from Italian champions Juventus in 2013 and arrived at the Stadium of Light as an Italy international.

He has since lost his spot in the Azzurri squad, but is aiming to win it back in time for Euro 2016 in France next summer.

Following the completion of his loan at Bologna, Giaccherini will still have a further year left on his contract at Sunderland.
