New Manchester United signing Anthony Martial admits the fee the Red Devils are paying to sign him is "crazy" for a player of his age, however he has vowed to ignore the price tag.

In England it has been claimed that the Red Devils have paid Monaco an initial £36m to sign Martial, but in France the sum has been reported as an initial €60m (£44m), rising to €80m (£58.7m) depending on his performances and achievements during his time at Old Trafford.

Hopes are high that Martial can help to fire Manchester United to success, but pressure on the player is heavy too on account of the transfer fee which has been paid for him.

Martial though is vowing to ignore the crazy amount splashed to take him from Monaco.

"I do not know if I'm worth €80m, but I'm not worrying about the amount", Martial was quoted as saying by French outlet Infosport+.

"It's pretty crazy for a player of my age, but I will try to ignore that and focus only on the pitch.

"I'm looking forward to discovering the English championship and proving my worth."

The 19-year-old could be thrust into Manchester United action after the international break when the Red Devils lock horns with fierce rivals Liverpool in a Premier League clash.

Martial started his career in the youth ranks at Lyon before being snapped up by Monaco for €5m in 2013.

Lyon slapped a sell-on fee into the deal, meaning they are set to net a portion of the fee Manchester United are paying Monaco.
