Leeds United have confirmed that they have agreed to terminate the contract of forward Nicky Ajose by mutual consent.

Ajose was not taken on the Whites' pre-season tour earlier this summer and head coach Uwe Rosler made it clear that he was not in his plans for the season ahead.

Now Leeds have confirmed that Ajose has had his deal terminated, which means he is able to move as a free agent.

Leeds splashed out £150,000 to sign Ajose from Peterborough United last summer, with then boss David Hockaday rating the former Manchester United youngster highly.

But Ajose suffered as Hockaday was axed and made just four appearances for Leeds, while he was loaned out for much of last term to League One side Crewe Alexandra.
