Manchester United midfielder Liam Grimshaw has joined Scottish side Motherwell on loan until January.

A defensive midfielder by trade, the 20-year-old has the ability to play in central defence and at full-back and will boost Ian Baraclough’s options at Fir Park.

He has played for England at youth level and has made 22 appearances for Manchester United in the Under-21 Premier League.

The midfielder has also spent time on loan at Morecambe and is ready to have a new experience in Scotland with Motherwell.

Grimshaw is keen to impress at Fir Park and try to learn as much as possible to become a better football before he returns to Manchester United in January.

“I’m looking forward to it and it’s a new experience for me”, Grimshaw told MFC TV.

“First of all, I’ll be looking to get into the side and then I’ll be looking to play as many games as possible, and try to improve as a player.”

The midfielder also represented Manchester United in the UEFA Youth League last season and Motherwell will be hoping to get the best out of him during his stay at the club.

The Steelmen are seventh in the Scottish Premiership and Grimshaw could make his debut at Fir Park against Ross County on 12th September.
