Celtic captain Scott Brown feels that all the matches in his team’s Europa League group are going to be big affairs as they will be facing some of the giants of European football.

The Hoops were eliminated from the Champions League at the playoff stage for a second year in succession after they lost to Swedish giants Malmo 4-3 over the two legs. They have dropped to the Europa League as a consequence.

In the second tier European competition, the Bhoys have been pitted in a group that consists of Dutch giants Ajax, Turkish side Fenerbahce and Norwegian outfit Molde.

Brown feels that his team have been handed a group that promises some really good, but difficult fixtures, adding that most of the games will be big occasions for the fans to savour.

“It’s a great draw and there are some really good games in there, although it won’t be easy”, he told Celtic View.

“We got a result against Ajax the last time at home and it was a wee bit disappointing in the away fixture but it shows we can beat them.

“All of the matches will be big occasions home and away.”

He further added that his side will be travelling to some imposing stadia in their Europa League group games and hopes that they are among the qualifiers to the next round.

“We will be going to some fantastic stadiums and it will be very interesting to see who gets through the group and hopefully we are one of the teams that progresses.

“There won’t be an easy game in the competition and we will have to fight for every point and I’m sure will get a few points on the board.”
