Club Omnisports Ulis president Jean-Baptiste Leroy is finding it hard to hide his delight at Anthony Martial’s big money move to Manchester United.

Manchester United have signed off on a €50m deal to prise the 19-year-old forward away from Monaco on deadline day and the fee could rise up to €80m based on his performances at Old Trafford.

While his former club Lyon are set to receive a chunk of the proceeds from his sale, some of the cash will also flow to Club Omnisports Ulis, where Martial originally started his career.

Martial, who hails from Les Ulis, was playing for this little known French side when Lyon plucked him out and drafted the forward into their academy in 2009.

Ulis are expected to receive between €300,000 and €500,000 from the sale of Martial and the club supremo has been beaming over the last few days.

Club president Leroy is delighted to see one of their own join a big club such as Manchester United, but is more excited about the money they will receive, which will give an immense boost to their finances.

Speaking to French radio station RMC, the Club Omnisports Ulis president said: “This is huge for us.

“It can bring many things: more training for our children, more equipment and more investment in a mini-bus or removable goalposts.

“I had an extraordinary meeting with the club officials.”
