Javier Hernandez has failed to mention Louis van Gaal in his farewell letter to Manchester United.

Manchester United decided to sell the Mexican striker to Bayer Leverkusen after he failed to impress Van Gaal in the first month of the season.

The Manchester United boss never warmed to Hernandez and even allowed him to join Real Madrid on loan last summer.

And the Dutchman’s name was unsurprisingly missing from the striker’s farewell note to Manchester United and the club’s fans.

The 27-year-old feels grateful towards his former manager Sir Alex Ferguson and Jim Lawlor, the Manchester United chief scout who recommended him to the club four years ago.

The striker also thanked all his team-mates and the support staff and did not fail to acknowledge the support he received from the Manchester United fans.

“I want to thank Sir Alex Ferguson and Jim Lawlor, the club staff, all the players I played with”, he wrote on his personal Instagram account.

“But especially I want to thank all the Manchester United fans in the UK and all around the world for the incredible support I've had this past four years and all the best wishes they have for me in my new chapter!!”

The Mexican joined Manchester United from Guadalajara in 2010 and won two Premier League titles during his stay at Old Trafford.

He netted 59 goals and provided 20 assists for his team-mates in 157 appearances for the club.
