Liverpool legend Luis Garcia feels that the club’s new signing Roberto Firmino has a lot of potential, but he needs time to show the full range of his skills.

Firmino has arrived at Anfield from Bundesliga club Hoffenheim after more than four years in the German league and has featured in all four of the Reds’ Premier League games so far, although he is yet to get on the scoresheet for his new team.

Garcia, who plied his trade at Anfield from 2004 until his departure for Atletico Madrid in 2007, has said that adapting to the demands of the Premier League is not an easy task and feels that the Brazil international will need time to get the grips with English top flight football.

“It’s not easy to come into the Premier League and adapt”, the Spaniard was quoted as saying by the Liverpool website.

“I think that he’s a very good player but you have to give him time to adapt to the pace of the game, to the players, the different situations in games."

The 37-year-old equated Firmino’s playing style to that of Philippe Coutinho, saying that they both like to make things happen on the pitch.

“He’s a player that wants to do things to change games, like Coutinho does at the moment.”
