Celtic midfielder Charlie Mulgrew believes that the Hoops have been handed a difficult Europa League group, but added that they are delighted to continue in Europe after their Champions League exit.

Ronny Deila’s men exited the elite European competition after they succumbed to a 4-3 loss at the playoff stage at the hands of Swedish giants Malmo and dropped down to the Europa League as a consequence.

The current campaign is the second season in a row when Celtic exited the Champions League at the playoff stage – last term they lost to Slovenian side NK Maribor.

In the Europa League, the reigning Scottish champions have been drawn against Dutch side Ajax, Turkish giants Fenerbahce and Norwegian club Molde.

Mulgrew feels that his team have been handed a tough group and equated its difficulty to that of a Champions League group, however, he remains confident of his side doing well in the competition.
