Germany coach Joachim Low has lavished praise on Liverpool midfielder Emre Can, who he has called up to the country's senior ranks.

Can could make his Germany debut this evening against Poland or on Monday when Low's men take on Scotland.

Whenever his senior team bow comes though, Low has made it clear he rates the former Bayer Leverkusen man highly, meaning Can has a big part to play for his country in the coming years.

"I like the way he plays", Low told German magazine Kicker.

"Technically he is clever, he plays clean, simple passes and has a good positional sense", he added.

Can was deployed by Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers as a defender last season, but the German has since stepped up to a midfield role.

It remains to be seen where Low will choose to play Can, who has been hailed for his versatility.

Can has played in all four of Liverpool's games in the Premier League this season, taking his total number of appearances for the Reds to 44.
