France boss Didier Deschamps has revealed that he opted for young Anthony Martial in his latest squad because he feels that the striker has speed, skill and power.

The world around the 19-year-old changed drastically within the space of just a few days as he received his first international call which was followed by a record move to Manchester United.




The French starlet was in fact forced to fly to Manchester in the middle of his first international call to complete his move and his national team manager feels that the youngster deserves all the acclaim he is getting.

Speaking about the thought process that went behind the selection of the youngster, Deschamps insisted that he has seen in Martial a perfect blend of skill, speed and power which he did not find anywhere else.
 


The onus will now be on Martial though, the 46-year-old feels, as he tries to adapt to the new surroundings and start performing for his country.

"I selected him because he has the skills, speed and power I could not find anywhere else", Deschamps was quoted as saying by UEFA.

"I'm looking for players like that; now let's see how he adapts to the squad."

The French national team, who are the hosts for Euro 2016, will play Portugal in an international friendly later tonight.
