Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy has revealed that Arsene Wenger knows he is worried about not playing regular football in the run up to Euro 2016 in France.

Debuchy is competing with Hector Bellerin for the right-back slot at the Emirates Stadium, while Calum Chambers can also operate in the position.

Bellerin has started Arsenal's last three games at right-back, relegating Debuchy to the bench and the France international admits he has spoken with Wenger about his situation.

"He knows I'm worried because at the end of the season there is an important deadline [with Euro 2016]", Debuchy admitted to L'Equipe.

The situation even caused Debuchy to consider his position at Arsenal before the transfer window closed, but a talk with Wenger eased his concerns.

"Let's say it crossed my mind, but I want to be at Arsenal and regain my place.

"He [Wenger] told me that nothing was to be gained [from leaving] and there were a lot of matches in the season."

Debuchy is desperate to win back his spot in the Arsenal side as he tries to make sure he is in France's squad for Euro 2016 on home soil.

The right-back faces competition from Bacary Sagna and Christophe Jallet and knows if he does not feature regularly at Arsenal his chances of playing in the tournament will diminish.
