Liverpool Under-21 boss Michael Beale believes the international break is a golden opportunity for Joao Carlos Teixeira to convince Brendan Rodgers to throw him into first team action.

The international break means a legion of Liverpool players flock to their respective national teams, something which means young talents are pushed up to first team training to make up the gap, gaining the opportunity to impress Rodgers first hand.

As Liverpool's League Cup and Europa League campaigns are just around the corner, Beale feels the coming period will offer Teixeira and his fellow youngsters a chance to impress.

"This week of course it’s the international break so that has seen a number of our young players who have been training at Melwood with Brendan Rodgers, and that, again, is an invaluable experience for them", Beale told his club's official site.

"With the Capital One Cup game with Carlisle United around the corner and the Europa League not far away now, this is a wonderful opportunity for some of the boys like Joao Carlos Teixeira for example to try and stake a claim to be a part of the first-team squad", Beale added.
