AC Milan legend Demetrio Albertini has told Mario Balotelli that he must become a team player in his second stint at the San Siro.

The Rossoneri offloaded Balotelli last summer to Liverpool for €20m, with president Silvio Berlusconi celebrating having sent a rotten apple in the dressing room packing.

But in a surprise development AC Milan re-signed Balotelli this summer, on loan, and now he is facing his final chance at the club.

For Albertini, Balotelli must understand what it is to be a team player and should also be treated like a man by his team-mates.

The former midfielder told Sky Italia: "It depends on him, but he should be treated like a man because he is not a child anymore.

"He lost many opportunities, he must understand that football is a team sport.

"He has everything to do well, but he must be prepared to fit into a system. The rules must be the same for everyone, there are responsibilities towards each other's team-mates."

Balotelli sat on the bench throughout AC Milan's fixture against Empoli recently and will be hoping to make his second debut for the club after the international break.

The Rossoneri have a glamour fixture lined up for 13th September, when they take on Inter in the Milan derby, a game in which Balotelli will want to be involved.
