Liverpool Under-21 coach Michael Beale believes that young striker Samed Yesil will be in good hands at Swiss Super League side FC Luzern as a familiar face in the shape of Markus Babbel is boss at the club.

Yesil has headed to Switzerland on a loan deal and will be aiming to get regular first team football under his belt in the country's top flight ahead of an eventual return to Liverpool.

He will be playing under Liverpool legend Babbel and Beale believes the presence of the German at Luzern can only be a good thing for Yesil and he is guaranteed to be in good hands with the ex-Bayern Munich man.

The Under-21 coach also rates the facilities and surroundings at the Swiss side highly and feels they will aid Yesil's development.

Beale told his club's site: "Samed Yesil will now get regular football at a really good level on a season-long loan with FC Luzern under former Liverpool favourite, Markus Babbel.

"We played Luzern recently in a friendly and they have a lovely stadium with outstanding facilities.

"Markus was a top German international, so he is aware of Samed’s goalscoring exploits with the Germany youth teams. He also still keeps an eye on Liverpool and we know he will look after him.

"He will now be playing men’s football on a regular basis and I think we might see an extra 10 or 15 per cent out of Samed as a result of that", Beale added.

Luzern currently sit third in the Swiss Super League, behind Grasshoppers and Basel.
