Nottingham Forest have officially confirmed the signing of winger Ryan Mendes from French Ligue 1 side Lille on a season-long loan deal.

The English Championship club have moved to snap up Mendes to replace Michail Antonio, who was sold to Premier League outfit West Ham before the transfer window closed.

Lille confirmed Mendes' switch to Forest before the transfer window slammed shut in France on Monday night, but the English side have only now confirmed the move from their end.

Mendes arrives at the City Ground having featured in three Ligue 1 matches for Lille this term.

The 25-year-old will now be keen to quickly hammer down a regular starting spot in the first team at Nottingham Forest and enjoy a successful campaign in England.
