Marseille this summer rejected a big-money bid for striker Michy Batshuayi, a player who has been linked with both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, according to French daily La Provence.

Batshuayi has been at the Stade Velodrome since he landed from Belgian club Standard Leige last summer and went on to enjoy a successful inaugural campaign in France's Ligue 1.

He scored ten goals across all competitions from 28 games for the French giants and has netted twice as well as provided an assist this season so far.

The 21-year-old was regularly linked with moving to England before he joined Marseille and though it is unclear who bid for him this summer, a monster offer did go in; the striker has spoken of his admiration for Arsenal.

It has now been claimed that Marseille turned down a bid worth €30m for their striker in the recently concluded transfer window, although the identity of the club has not been revealed.

Batshuayi is expected to be the focal point of Marseille’s attack this season as they have seen the departures of Andre-Pierre Gignac and Andre Ayew in the close season.

Premier League clubs may renew their interest in the striker in the winter transfer window.
