Arsenal are keeping tabs on promising Anderlecht midfielder Youri Tielemans ahead of a potential winter transfer window bid, it has been claimed.

Wenger's Arsenal were the only club in Europe's top five major leagues to not sign an outfield player over the summer transfer window and the Frenchman has already felt a fan backlash, with the Gunners faithful paying the highest season ticket prices in the Premier League.

The Arsenal boss though may be prepared to spend a portion of the club's considerable financial reserves in the winter window.

According to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, Wenger has set his sights on Anderlecht's promising midfielder Tielemans.

Just 18 years old, Tielemans is a regular fixture in the Anderlecht first team and has been continually tipped for big things.

Tielemans has been capped by Belgium at youth levels and it is thought to be just a matter of time until he makes his senior Red Devils debut.

Indeed, the midfielder was part of Belgium's squad for their Euro 2016 qualifiers in June, though he did not play.
