Angel di Maria is relishing the chance to play in the Champions League again, saying it was tough for him to watch the competition on TV while at Manchester United last season.

Di Maria helped Real Madrid win the Champions League in 2014, but was on the move just months later as he completed a big-money switch to Manchester United.

He was on the move again this summer, booking a switch to French champions Paris Saint-Germain, and can now not wait to taste Europe's top tier competition once again.

Di Maria told French daily Le Parisien: "It was hard last season when I didn't play so much and I had to watch the Champions League on TV just after the season in which I had won the tournament with Real."

The Argentine continued: "It's a great competition and on Tuesday night I will get that same feeling I've had for every single time since I played my first Champions League match for Benfica."
