Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Roberto Soldado is loving his return to Spain with Villarreal.

Soldado joined the Yellow Submarine this summer after spending a frustrating two seasons at White Hart Lane.

The Spaniard earned a name for himself because of his goalscoring feats with Valencia before Tottenham paid big money to take him to England in 2013.

Despite a stellar record in Spain, he struggled for goals in north London and towards the end of his stint he even struggled to get into the playing eleven.

However, his return to Spain has been rosy so far and he has already scored two and assisted two goals in his first three appearances for Villarreal.

Soldado admits that he could not have written a better script for his return to Spain and revealed that he is enjoying his second coming at the Madrigal.

"I could not have wished for a better welcome”, the Spaniard was quoted as saying by AS.

“And on a sporting level, we have started well, which is the most important thing.

"Coming back has surpassed all of my expectations – I could not have imagined it would be as good as it has-been so far I was really keen to come back to Spain.”

Soldado made 76 appearances for Tottenham during his two-year stay but only found the back of the net 16 times.

On the other hand he has a wonderful record in La Liga and has scored 103 goals in 210 appearances in Spain’s top flight.
