Dinamo Zagreb coach Zoran Mamic has thanked West Ham manager Slaven Bilic for helping his countrymen with information on Arsenal.

The Croatians recorded a famous 2-1 win over Arsenal last night and it was their first victory in the group stage of the Champions League since 1999.

Arsenal were favourites to win the game, but Olivier Giroud’s sending off helped the home side to overcome Arsene Wenger’s men at the Stadion Maksimir.

Mamic was delighted with the result and credited his players for putting in the hard yards, which helped them to beat the more fancied English side.

The Dinamo Zagreb coach also revealed that West Ham boss Bilic’s input also played a key role when they scouted Arsenal before the game.

The Croatian masterminded West Ham’s opening day win over Arsenal at the Emirates earlier in the season.

"I am enormously happy about the win over Arsenal”, Mamic was quoted as saying by Jutarnji List.

“And I congratulate my players because they completed everything we agreed and that's why they were rewarded.

"We were scouting Arsenal, thanks to information from Slaven Bilic and Nikola Jurcevic [his right-hand man], and on this occasion I want to thank them.

“But without the effort of my team it would have been worth nothing; they really did a great job."

Arsenal will look to get over last night’s disappointment with a strong away performance against Premier League champions Chelsea on Saturday at Stamford Bridge.
