Manchester United had a scout in attendance at Portuguese side Belenenses' Europa League clash against Lech Poznan last night, it has been claimed.

Belenenses visited the Polish outfit, having qualified for this season's Europa League following a solid previous term in the Portuguese top flight.

Ricardo Sa Pinto's men played out a 0-0 draw away at Lech Poznan to kick off their Europa League campaign.

And according to Scouts In Attendance, Manchester United had a talent spotter taking in proceedings in Poland.

It is not clear which player the Manchester United scout was watching and if he was on a specific spotting mission, or simply taking in the game to acquaint himself with both teams and their players.

However, the Red Devils have been linked with young Lech Poznan midfielder Karol Linetty.

The 20-year-old is a product of the club's youth academy and has developed rapidly in recent years. Linetty is now a senior Poland international with five caps to his name.

He helped Lech Poznan to the Polish title last term and featured regularly throughout the campaign for the club.
