Leeds United defender Charlie Taylor knows that his side face a tough trip to Middlesbrough next weekend, but has asked his team-mates to rise to it.

The Whites won 2-1 away at MK Dons on Saturday, continuing their impressive away form that also includes a 2-1 victory away at Derby County.

Next up for Uwe Rosler's men is a visit to face Middlesbrough; Leeds won at the ground under Neil Redfearn last term thanks to an Alex Mowatt goal in the third minute.

Taylor knows a stiff test awaits the Whites, pointing to the money that Boro have spent to add players such as Stewart Downing and David Nugent to their ranks to bolster the squad for a promotion push.

The left-back told LUTV: "I think it's been a positive start to the season. We've only lost the one game. I know we've picked up a few draws, but I'd say it's a good start to the season and one we can hopefully build on as it's only very early yet.

"Definitely [Middlesbrough will be a test]", Taylor continued.

"You look at the squad they've got, the money they spent in the summer.

"They've got players like Downing, Nugent, they've got real quality.

"So playing away at their place will be very tough, but we've got to step up to the challenge", he added.

Middlesbrough are currently flying high in the Championship with 17 points from eight games collected so far to sit second in the standings.

Leeds meanwhile are tenth, having taken eleven points from their opening eight fixtures.
