Carlos Goncalves, Marcos Rojo’s agent, has cooled down talk of an exit from Manchester United for his client.

The defender has been struggling to get into Louis van Gaal’s team this season and only Luke Shaw’s unfortunate injury allowed him to find a place in the Dutchman’s eleven.

The Argentine defender also had a disruptive pre-season because of his Copa America’s commitments and missed a flight to join the team during their last leg of their pre-season tour in the United States.

Van Gaal was not ready to draft the Argentina international into his team without proper training under his belt and there were rumours that the defender could have been sold this summer.

However, Goncalves poured cold water on Rojo’s rumored troubles at Manchester United and insisted that his client is happy at Old Trafford.

The defender’s agent also brushed aside talk of his client moving to Napoli in the near future.

When asked about the Italian club’s interest in Rojo, Goncalves told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli: “There is no need to talk about it.

“The player is happy at United and has no intention of leaving the club.”

Rojo joined Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon last summer and made 26 appearances in his first season in English football.
