Paris Saint-Germain legend Vincent Guerin believes that defender Marquinhos should leave the Parc des Princes.

Marquinhos is currently behind both David Luiz and Thiago Silva in the pecking order at PSG and has seen his playing time suffer as a result.

The young Brazilian, who has attracted interest from both Chelsea and Manchester United over the last 12 months, has made just four Ligue 1 appearances this term, while he was on the bench for PSG's Champions League opener against Malmo.

With Luiz being 28 years old and Silva 31 years old, Guerin does not see Marquinhos' situation improving any time soon and says if he was in the defender's position he would leave.

"Marquinhos would have a place at any big European club", the PSG legend told L'Equipe.

"His problem is that he has two of the world's best in his position.

"In his place, I would leave PSG. Thiago and David still have five or six years ahead of them, so it's a little difficult for him.

"His status is complicated to manage and it must be very hard for him."

PSG swooped on Italian giants Roma to sign Marquinhos in 2013, splashing out €31.4m to sign a defender rated as one of the most promising in world football.

But he is growing increasingly frustrated at kicking his heels on the sidelines.
