Mino Raiola has hit back at Sir Alex Ferguson and stressed that the legendary Manchester United manager never rated Paul Pogba.

The then 19-year-old midfielder left Manchester United in the summer of 2012 to join Juventus and has now become one of the most sought after players in world football.

Pogba was making a name for himself at youth level for Manchester United, but Ferguson was not ready to make him a permanent member of his first team plans.

The former Manchester United manager has claimed that the club never really came to terms with his agent, Raiola, and believes the Italian engineered the youngster’s move to Juventus.

Pogba’s agent has hit back at Ferguson and insisted that he only had Pogba’s interests in mind when he advised the youngster to move to the Bianconeri.

Raiola was quoted as saying by Italian news outlet Calcio Mercato: “Ferguson is yet to figure out who Pogba is. If you do not like me Mr. Ferguson, for me, it’s a compliment as it means I am doing my job well.

“I have to do my best for my clients, not for the coaching staff. If I had paid attention to my interest, I would have convinced Pogba to stay in Manchester to safeguard my relationship with United, with a view on future business.

“To me, only the interests of Pogba mattered, but it seems Ferguson didn’t want the good of Pogba.”

Raiola also feels Ferguson never rated Pogba, which paved the way for the midfielder to join Juventus in 2012.

“He was a great coach, but even great managers make mistakes. Ferguson never believed in Pogba and Juventus did.”

A number of top European clubs, including Manchester United, are now willing to offer big money to prise the midfielder away from Juventus in the recent future.
