Martin Odegaard is ready to leave Real Madrid in the winter transfer window after coming to the conclusion he will not receive many first team minutes with the club's senior team this season.

The Norwegian midfielder was chased by a number of sides throughout the summer, including Celtic, but chose to stay put at Real Madrid, with coach Rafael Benitez rating his talents.

However, Odegaard has not played a single first team minute for Los Blancos' senior side this season and has seen his action restricted to Real Madrid Castilla.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Odegaard is now ready to head away from Real Madrid on loan when the window swings back open in the new year.

Rayo Vallecano are in pole position to sign the 16-year-old, especially as a move to the Madrid-based club would see Real Madrid able to keep a close watch on his progress.

Other clubs are also likely to join the chase for the highly-rated midfielder once he is formally made available for loan by Real Madrid though.

Odegaard joined the Spanish giants earlier this year after picking the club from a who's who of European football's elite, who worked overtime to tempt him to their respective clubs.
